Understanding Your Potential To
Possess The Nations

Sunday’s service was all but glorious. We were blessed to have Aps Ebenezer Quaye (National Head, Germany) and wife as well as Pastor Thomas Annane (National head, Equatorial Guinea) visit and worship with us. The ministration from the grace choir was uplifting and the sermon for the service was delivered by Eld. Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong. He spoke on the topic “understanding your potential to possess the nations”

Quoting from Mathew 16:17-18 (MSG), he helped the congregation understand that Peter received a divine revelation of who Jesus was and by catching that revelation, Jesus told him he was; “who he really was”. In other words, Jesus told him who he was capable of becoming when he had the revelation of Jesus from the spirit.

Breaking down the topic for the sermon, he stated that to possess means to take ownership, invade or take over. He also explained potential as dormant ability, reserved power, untapped strength, unused success, hidden talent or capped capability. Eld. Dr. Siaw Agyapong charged the congregation to make conscious efforts to ignite and develop their potentials. He stated that when an individual understands who he is in Christ and the potential he or she possesses by virtue of being in Christ, he will take his or spiritual life seriously. He further stated that God has great plans for us and we realize them as we get closer to him by studying the word, praying and fasting.

Everyone who encounters God is changed by him he said. Quoting from Genesis 17:1-5, he stated how Abram was transformed by his encounter with God so much so that his name was changed to Abraham to reflect who he was and who he was to become, “the father of nations”. He charged the congregation never to be fearful for no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). He also stated that nothing evil had any power to hurt them; neither demons or witches (Mark 16:17) and though they might be pressed on all sides, they were not to be perturbed (2 Corinthians 4:8).

Concluding the message, Eld. Dr. Agyepong established that it’s never about your current situation, however, having Jesus in your life grants you the ability to do all things (Philippians 4:13). God looked at Abraham and saw a nation. Looking at Jesus in a manger, he saw a savior and even in Jacob he saw Israel. Moses who had murdered was no exception for he saw in Him a deliverer of Israel and even in Saul, a persecutor of the early church, he saw an apostle.

She cited Ruth as an example of a virtuous woman for her hardworking nature and her loyalty to Naomi. She further stated that due to her service to her mother-in-law she received good counsel which helped secure a good husband. She challenged women to transcend beyond just looking good especially at church to actually being good; more especially at home.

Communion was taken after the sermon and the service ended with prayers and intercession led by our visiting national heads. Are you yet to have a revelation of Christ? Do you want to surrender or rededicate your life to Christ? Get in touch, we are here to help!
