To mark the Gospel Sunday for the month of August, speaker for the day, Deacon Emmanuel Baffoe, drew from Mathew 7:13 and Luke 13:24 to highlight the relevance the gospel of salvation. As backdrop, Deacon Baffoe referenced 1 John 2:16, he reminded the congregation of the root of sin, to include physical pressure, the pleasure of the eyes, and the pride of life. These three were the course through which sin first entered the world, but God purposed to reconcile the world unto Himself because of His love for humanity.
Subsequently, man had to deal with laws, which were not whole in and of themselves, to save man. The laws were God’s first move to save the world, yet, He (God) knew the laws were limiting in their ability to save wholly; reference Romans 3:23; so, God had to make the ultimate sacrifice because of His love for each individual who makes up the world He created; reference John 3:16. It is abnormal that the offended initiate the process of reconciliation, but here is the depth of the love of God.
Deacon Baffoe reiterated the fact that the salvation of the world needed to come through an unblemished saviour, as found in Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, the world was bought back to the identity of God. The prophecies that preceded the birth of Christ translated the required process needed to wash the sins of the world. Jesus’ unblemished blood was divinely sufficient to purchase the pardon of the world. The synoptic gospels of the new testament are all indicators of the relevance of salvation through Jesus. Each of the synoptic gospels was meant to address a particular audience telling of the life of Jesus and explaining the mission of Christ to bring salvation to men
Deacon Baffoe informed the Church that there is a fifth gospel which is the believer. He explained that the fifth gospel is the Great Commission given to all believers to preach Christ to the world. Believers are to carry the message of the one-way Jesus, that is, Jesus who is the way, truth and life, without whom no one can get to God. In spite of the many theories that exist regarding salvation, we must remember that, as is written in the gospel of Jesus, He is the only one through whom man is restored to God. The assurance of every believer and everyone we minister to must be in the whole pardon we have gained in the blood of Jesus. We rejoice in the entirety of our reconciliation to God through Christ’s blood.
From Acts 4:12, believers are retold the declaration of God telling of His authorization of Jesus as the only means through whom the world is saved. Believers are called to heed the signs of the end time and snatch the lost from the world. Unbelievers are called to search their hearts and heed the pardoning voice of Christ calling them unto salvation. There is a time which fast approaches where Christ comes to judge the world. All who hear (read) the message of salvation, are called to deeply search their hearts and make things right with God
Concluding the day’s message, we are reminded to take advantage of the purchase made on the cross of Calvary to claim our salvation in Christ and begin a Godly walk with Him as we await His foretold appearing. Believers are also reminded not to neglect the call to spread the news of Christ’s exchange
