Sunday’s Service was a beautiful climax to the weeklong long annual evangelism week celebration of the Church of Pentecost International. We had the opportunity of hosting Aps. Francis Yaw Adu, Ps. Emmanuel Antwi Bosiako And Ps. Daniel Fosu.
The speaker for the first service was Eld. Frank Peprah who spoke on “Evangelizing in Times like These”. He acknowledged the current changes and challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic and how it has affected various individuals and institutions. He likened this situation to the situation experienced by Isreal when they were defeated and taken into captivity by Nebuchadnezzar. They had to go through new restrictions that threatened their ability to freely worship and serve God, yet, Daniel and his colleagues did not compromise. Their zeal to serve God and not defile themselves even in times of difficulties made it possible for the even worldly kings they served to even acknowledge the existence and power of God. This, he believes we should do in times like this; our lives should be a medium to reach out to the lost.
The second service had Elder Samuel Ainoo speaking a message titled, “The Gospel is for Sharing”. Expanding on the topic, Elder Ainoo stated that we were all at a point in time lost until we heard the gospel and surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ. He further stated that there are many others who are still lost who we have the responsibility of bringing to Christ. He further stated that we all received the gospel of reconciliation and must do our best to win as many souls as possible. Concluding the message, he reminded the congregation that evangelism is not for a select few and we must do our best individually and collectively to win as many souls as possible.
Ps. Bosiako led the congregation to pray after the service. Indeed it was a befitting conclusion to the weeklong evangelism week celebration. Have you been to church since congregational service began? If not we can’t wait to see you next week!
