The Church of Pentecost embarked on a week-long outreach dubbed “One member; One Discipled Soul” and PIWC Graceland was not exempted. The ball was set rolling on Monday, 4th November to Sunday, 10th November.
The service began with an orientation on soul winning led by Ps. Ebenezer Agyapong where he took the congregation through soul winning methods. The entire congregation was then divided into groups to go out and preach the gospel in the neighborhood. The service continued after the outreach with an exhortation from Pro/Ovs. Caleb Agbeke. He spoke on the theme, “Jesus, the giver of life”.
The main text of the exhortation was from Exodus 15:22-27, which recounted the experience of the Israelites in the wilderness after they had been delivered from Egypt. They encountered the waters of Marah which were bitter and undrinkable. Moses cried out to God and he was directed to throw a piece of wood into the water to make it drinkable.
He further went on to explain that Marah meant bitterness and it could be represented on our lives with all things destructive in our lives that can ultimately cause death. Everyone comes to a place in their lives where they experience these things. He mentioned however that just like God was able to turn the bitter water into sweetness he can do same with our lives. He also added that just like Moses, obedience was necessary for a change in the situation.
Pro/Ovs. Agbeke also mentioned that Jesus Christ was the only means through which we could receive eternal life (1 John 5:7-12). He further stated that, the solution to any bitterness or “Marah Water” in anyone’s life is Christ Jesus. “Jesus enables us to live above all our problems giving us joy for sorrow and peace for shame”, he added.
Concluding, He encouraged all present who were yet to surrender their lives to him to do same which led to an altar call. Indeed, it was a glorious service!
